Let's roll!

Updated: Sep 16, 2021

Here we are, getting ready to re-open and putting the place back in order... Brooms, rakes, vacuum and the hose all competing in the category of BEST CLEANING TOOL for 2021, while leaf blowers, chainsaws & hammers play a cacophony of tunes that is better imagined than heard!!! Everywhere you look something needs to be done!

Unfortunately the horses offer NO HELP at all!!! They look on with varying degrees of disdain, judgement, disapproval or annoyance, then proceed to remind us that dinner time is NOW.

Anyways, while most everything is still standing, our mounting ramp has definitely seen better days and has become a priority. How else do we make a horse look smaller than an 8 year old child? Ok, maybe that is not the main purpose of a mounting ramp... but it certainly is one of them! (^_^)

Seriously, getting in the saddle is the first step into horseback riding therapy. A mounting ramp facilitates the transition from the ground and is meant not only for wheelchair or walker users but by anyone with balance issues, muscle weakness and even able-bodied individuals. It is not an exaggeration to say that our program would have a hard time existing without it.

After doing some research (including looking into building it ourselves), Sonny decided on getting a brand new mounting ramp made of weather resistant long lasting aluminum sold by HandiRamp.

If you wish to help the Equestrian Therapy Co-Op get a shiny new mounting ramp, you can go to the GoFundMe page below:
